Use and Take Care is the website of an artist's shop in Lewes, West Sussex. The shop used to sell a variety of interesting and original works, all hand-crafted by local artists.

Unfortunately the shop was forced to close last year and the owner is considering her options at present.

Because of the nature of the business, a quirky, original design was developed using a variety of different fonts, styles and colours.

A changing display of current art works were featured and a pop-up Google map of the shop location was included.

HelpWorks Italia, based in Italy, provides various services to property owners. It also makes available on the web directories of local businesses, property for sale and property to rent.

As it is a new company, we designed their new computer system to be as easy to use as possible, with the ability to expand as the business grows.

The website contains a mixture of static (i.e. the information changes infrequently) and dynamic (the information often changes) pages; the static pages contain text supplied by the client and the dynamic pages are created on demand from XML generated by a back-office database.

The site is fully dual-language (English and Italian) - a user can click on the flag at the top right of every screen to switch from one to the other.

The Highbrook community site has been live for over a year.

It has a secure sign-in/registration facilty, allowing authorised users to email other residents, advertise upcoming events, post news items and upload photos of past village events. There is also a very simple discussion forum.

Registered users can opt to be notified by automated email when a new event, news item or photo becomes visible on the site. Twitter and RSS feeds can also be subscribed to.

It uses an online database and contains functionality giving the website administrator the ability to manage all the information and moderate events before they are posted.
